The Saluki coat is smooth and of a soft silky texture, slight feather on the legs, feather at the back of the thighs and sometimes with slight woolly feather on the thigh and shoulder
The hair on the body, neck and quarters of the Scottish Deerhound should be harsh and wiry about 3 or 4 inches long; that on the head, breast and belly much softer.
